Llandudno Albion & Trearddur Bay through to Junior Cup Final
In closely fought semi-finals, both played at Maesdu Park, Llandudno FC, last Saturday afternoon, both Trearddur Bay Reserves and Llandudno Albion prevailed to book themselves a final spot in the Junior Cup showpiece that will be held at Nantporth, the Book People Stadium, Bangor City FC, on Friday evening, the 8th May 2015 with a 7:00pm kick off.
In the first semi final, the Bay took a 20th minute lead via Gwion Owen only to see their opponents, Llanfairfechan Town reply six minutes later with a well worked goal from Josh Summers. Both sides had chances to win the tie in normal time, however, an extra period of 30 minutes was required and despite tired legs, there was no further scoring meaning the dreaded penalty shoot out. Despite missing one spot kick each, Trearddur Bay held their nerve the better to win 6-5 on pens.
In the second semi-final, Llandudno Albion scrapped home thanks to a Mark Montgomery 69th minute winner against Gaerwen, however, the Islanders gave an excellent account of themselves and felt they also had chances to have won the tie.
