at Bangor's Book People Stadium
Vale of Conwy/Clwyd Champions, Prestatyn Sports FC, clinched the NWCFA Intermediate Cup to add to their League title after a clinical second half display to overcome a dogged CPD Waunfawr side from the Gwynedd Football League in tonight's final played at Bangor City FCs' The Book People Stadium, eventually romping home to a 5-1 victory.
Prestatyn were always in command of this showpiece but had to wait until six minutes before half-time for their breakthrough when Darren Cassidy netted from close range. The second period was mostly one way traffic with Cassidy adding a second on 54 minutes with a fine solo effort. The best goal of the match came just before the hour mark when a Carl Griffiths volley from the edge of the box flew over Waun keeper Nick Jordan into the top corner of the net. The match ended as a contest when Prestatyn's Shane Middleman made it 4-0 when he headed home from a corner after 65 minutes and the romp was completed on 70 minutes when Griffiths finished off an excellent move down the right from Cassidy.
Waunfawr had their consolation when substitute Jamie Farrelly pulled one back in stoppage time.
