Rules of the Benevolent Fund
The function of the Benevolent Fund shall be to assist those who suffer financial hardship due to an accident whilst playing or involved in a properly sanctioned game of football,
1. The fund will be called The North Wales Coast Football Association Benevolent Fund.
2. The treasurer of the North Wales Coast Football Association shall keep all records of this account.
3. Membership of the Benevolent Fund shall be open to any member of a club affiliated to The North Wales Coast Football Association plus registered referees on payment of an annual subscription. This subscription must be paid through a club or league and cannot be paid on an individual basis.
4. The North Wales Coast Football Association will, on request provide a claim form, on which a claim may be made. It is expected that a medical certificate will be submitted with any claim. The North Wales Coast Football Association will update this application form as and when required.
5. Membership of the fund will commence on receipt of the appropriate membership subscription which should be submitted before the end of September in any season and will continue until the last day of that season, and shall include any correctly granted extension to the season plus any properly sanctioned friendly matches.
6. The membership subscription shall be decided by The North Wales Coast Football Association annually and the membership subscription will be communicated to all league secretaries and the Referees Association.
7. The amount of any grant made by the Benevolent Fund will be decided by the Finance Committee of The North Wales Coast Football Association. Payment will be made if there are sufficient funds in the account and will be a one off payment.
8. The decision of the committee will be final and no member will be able to appeal the amount of grant to any other body or court of law.
9. If a false claim is made legal action will be taken against any person involved in the claim and the whole cost of any such action will be borne by the person(s) making the false claim.
10. Only those referees who are members of their local society of the North Wales Referees Association shall be eligible to become members of the Benevolent Fund and subscription fees must be paid via the society secretary, members must be registered on a form obtainable from The North Wales Coast Football Association. If a person officiates in a match in an emergency situation he/she may make a claim if not a registered referee or a member of the North Wales Referees Association.
11. The North Wales Coast Football Association shall alter these rules as and when appropriate.
