Sport Wales has today (27 October) launched the ‘Progress’ strand of their Be Active Wales Fund
https://www.sport.wales/beactivewalesfund/progress-grant-be-active-wales-fund/
that provides grants to sports clubs in Wales to assist with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grants of between £300 - £50,000* are available in this third and final phase of the Fund. The Be Active Wales Fund was initially launched in July to provide immediate financial support to clubs. Football clubs have been accessing this funding and more information on the strands can be found by clicking here
https://www.sport.wales/beactivewalesfund/
So far, a total of 151 clubs have already been supported via the Sport Wales Be Active fund and the average award has been £991 per Club.
In accordance with the FAW Return to Play protocols, the priority items will include:
PPE
Level 1 Coach Education
Additional training equipment
Small scale pitch preparation
PLUS
Mobile floodlights (clubs must demonstrate they have appropriate areas to use in addition to the main pitch)
Venue hire for winter training
Clubs who have accessed funding under the ‘Prepare’ strand can reapply for the ‘Progress’ funding but on a different project. Clubs who have already completed the FAW Covid-19 Impact survey do not need to repeat this for a ‘Progress’ application.
Sport Wales has also produced an information video about the ‘Progress’ fund that can be accessed via the following links: Welsh / English.
Kind regards,
Football Association of Wales
* You will need to make a contribution of 10% for grants over £10k or 20% over £25k.
