FAW Statement on Coronavirus/COVID-19_issue 15
Following Welsh Government’s announcement this lunchtime (2nd November 2020) regarding the set of national restrictions that will be in place from 9th November, we are pleased to announce that football activity will resume at Phase 3 from next week.
This will mean that friendly matches can resume for all levels of football from 9th November. The removal of local lockdowns will ensure that no restrictions will be placed on players of any age participating in training or matches, volunteers facilitating football opportunities will also be able to travel to support football activity.
Whilst local lockdowns have been removed, matches should still take place on a local or regional basis either against teams within the same league or within the same local authority.
In light of the announcement regarding the number of people who are able to take part in organised indoor activity, Return to Play protocols will be amended to ensure football complies with the latest government guidelines. These will be shared with you as soon as possible.
Please could this information be shared with your respective leagues and clubs.
