Welsh refereeing has received a boost on the international stage as Iwan Griffith of Conwy has been added to the FIFA Referees list for 2017.

Griffith has just returned from the FIFA Referees Course for International Referees in Malaga, where he was under the watchful eye of Pierluigi Collina, the newly elected Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee.

The Conwy based match official successfully completed a strict physical programme and will now see Griffith join fellow Referees Lee Evans and Bryn Markham Jones on the FIFA Referees List.

With our own Lee Evans well established on the International scene, Iwan has also come a long way in the last decade and the NWCFA is very proud to have two of its officials on the FIFA Referee List. The NWCFA would also like to congratulate Iwan with his achievements and to wish him all the very best in the coming years ahead with his refereeing duties. Da Iawn Iwan.
