Bangor City to play Caernarfon Town in Challenge Cup Final on Tuesday 13th May 2014.
A second victory over Rhyl in four days ensured that Bangor City reached the final of the North Wales Coast FA Cup final last night. Both teams named much changed line-ups from those that had appeared in the Welsh Premier League fixture at the weekend, with City naming just 2 from the weekend in the starting line-up with Damien Allen and Sion Edwards in midfield It was Edwards who got the first real chance of the match on 14 minutes when he cut inside a defender on the left hand side of the penalty area before turning and going around the back of him. With a yard of space at his disposal, Edwards unleash a powerful shot across the face of goal which beat 'keeper Mike Askew and went into the net on the far side to make it 1-0.
Rhyl responded immediately and within a couple of minutes a shot was fried just wide of Nick Bould's left-hand post. 5 minutes later and Bould was again called into action as a shot from the left-hand side threatened to level the scores, but Bould collected the ball well. On 35 minutes City had their next real chance when Joe Culshaw hit a looping shot from out side the penalty area which landed on the roof of the Rhyl net with the 'keeper scrambing to get back.
The second half started slowly with neither team looking like they wanted to take risks too early. Rhyl manager Greg Strong who had been influential in his centre defensive position took himself off after 58 minutes to be replaced by Jamie Whitehouse. It was again City who found the first chance when they won a free kick just outside the penalty area. Sion Edwards stepped up to take the kick and Rhyl 'keeper Askew could do nothing to stop the ball going straight into his top left-hand corner to make it 3-0 on 62 minutes. On 83 minutes Colbeck wrapped up the match for City as he made it 3-0.
