FAW Trust announce dates for 2014
Welsh Community Football Awards.
The nomination window is now open and will close on the 26th May.
Giving something back to the real grassroots heroes in Wales
"These remarkable individuals and clubs give up hundreds of hours a year to ensure that kids and adults have access to the game in safe and welcoming environments across Wales and it’s important that we recognise their extraordinary efforts with these awards" Ian Rush, McDonald's Head of Welsh Football
Now in it's seventh year, the annual Welsh Community Football Awards presented by McDonald’s aims to recognise and reward the people and clubs that are driving grassroots football in Wales.
The awards build on the continued commitment of McDonald’s to improve standards of community football and to increase participation across all aspects of the game through the Club Accreditation Programme.
The awards are split into ten national categories, all of which are judged at a regional level before a national shortlist is created. Grassroots clubs, coaches and volunteers from any of the six regions can be nominated.
This year’s categories are:
Grassroots Impact
Player of the Year (Girl)
Player of the Year (Boy)
School of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Young Volunteer of the Year
Club of the Year
Community Coach of the Year
Performance Development Coach of the Year
Lifetime Achievement Award
Winners are awarded at both a local and national level so there’s plenty of opportunity for grassroots football heroes across the country to be recognised.
